Global warming, pollution, failing human rights in many countries, collapse of biodiversity, inequitable sharing of wealth... These concerns often prompt young graduates to question the meaning of business. They raise crucial questions: how to run a company in a lucid and relevant way, while being efficient and responsible?
Our work entitled Comprendre la RSE, levier de transformation durable proposes a method for achieving this. It is based on three fundamental principles. The first is to become aware of the ecological and social interdependencies that characterize our modern world, and that the actions of every company have an effect on people, the environment and local communities. The idea, secondly, is to integrate them into corporate strategy and practices, because corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not just an incidental dimension. This implies questioning traditional business models, assessing the risks and opportunities associated with sustainability, and reflecting on operational practices and supply chains as a prerequisite to carrying out the necessary transformations.
