New Sorbonne Business School project awarded Low-Carbon label

And that's four! A new afforestation project in the Vendée region financed by the Sorbonne Business School has just been awarded the Label Bas-Carbone (LBC) promoted by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity.

As part of its CSR approach, the Sorbonne Business School has committed to offsetting the carbon footprint of emissions linked to its international missions. With 3 projects in Gironde to be certified by 2020, our establishment is thus the first university to have implemented LBC-certified carbon offset projects.

This 4th project in the Vendée also designed by the Centre National de la Propriété Forestière (CNPF) is expected to sequester 2,342 additional tons of carbon over 30 years. The project involves the afforestation of farmland to complement a existing woodland and introduce 13 species, maximizing the co-benefits linked to biodiversity.

All are listed on the ministry's register as projects funded by the Sorbonne Business School.

Created by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity with the collaboration of numerous partners, the Low-Carbon Label aims to contribute to achieving France's climate goals. It rewards those involved in the fight against climate change.
