PhD in Management Sciences

The logical continuation of a Research Master's degree, the PhD in Management Sciences is aimed at working people (continuous education) or young students (formal education) who wish to embark on thesis work. The training is provided by the Doctoral School of Management Panthéon Sorbonne at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Graduates are awarded the PhD in Management Sciences by University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Nearly 200 PhDs have graduated since its creation at the Sorbonne Business School in 1993.

The Doctoral School

Doctoral School of Management Panthéon Sorbonne organizes the supervision of doctoral students, from their thesis registration to the defense and, beyond that, helps them prepare for their professional insertion in an activity related to their skills. It coordinates the supervision and monitoring of students by their thesis supervisor and by the host team to which they belong.

The Doctoral School brings together the research units and teams that contribute to the training of PhDs and prepare them for professional activity in the field of management science. The Doctoral School is directed by Jean-François LEMOINE, Professor at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

It comprises:

• Management Sciences Research Center - PRISM,
• IT Research Center - CRI,
• Paris Business School, ESCP Europe,
• Sorbonne Business School research laboratory.

To these founding members must be added an associate member, the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Business (ULB).

Objectives

The aim is to train professionals capable of meeting the challenges of the future by developing their expertise on a given subject. PhD students are mentored by the Sorbonne Business School faculty

The PhD in Management Sciences at the Sorbonne Business School is aimed at people who wish to prepare for the profession of faculty in Management Sciences or orient their professional career in the field of Research.

Openings

At the end of the training program, graduates will have acquired the skills to practice:

• as a faculty in universities, schools or senior administration,
• high added-value professions such as the research departments of major companies or consultancy activities.

The Doctoral School offers doctoral students activities and training courses included in its scientific program. This program includes methodological or thematic training, useful for developing their project, as well as conferences, seminars and study days enabling them to broaden their scientific culture and compare their work with that of other researchers.
