PhD in Management Sciences

The logical continuation of a Research Master's degree, the PhD in Management Sciences is aimed at young students wishing to embark on thesis work. The training is provided within the Doctoral School of Management Panthéon-Sorbonne of University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Graduates are awarded the PhD en Sciences de gestion awarded by University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Nearly 200 PhDs have graduated since its creation at the Sorbonne Business School in 1993.

The Doctoral School

The Doctoral School of Management Panthéon-Sorbonne organizes the supervision of doctoral students, from their thesis registration to the defense and, beyond that, helps them prepare for their professional insertion in an activity related to their skills. It coordinates the supervision and monitoring of students by their thesis supervisor and by the host team to which they belong.

The Doctoral School brings together the research units and teams that contribute to the training of PhDs and prepare them for professional activity in the field of management science. It is headed by Jean-François LEMOINE, Professor at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

It comprises:

• Center for Research in Management Sciences - PRISM,
• Center for Research in Computer Science - CRI,
• Paris Business School, ESCP Europe,
• Research Laboratory of the Sorbonne Business School.

These founding members are joined by an associate member, the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Business.

Objectives

The aim is to train PhD students capable of meeting the challenges of the future by developing their expertise on a given subject. PhD students are mentored by Sorbonne Business School senior lecturers.

Audiences

The PhD in Management Sciences at the Sorbonne Business School is aimed at people who wish to prepare for the profession of senior lecturer in management sciences or orient their career in the field of Research.

Openings

On completion of the training program, graduates will have acquired the skills to practice:

• as a senior lecturer in universities, schools or senior administration,
• high added-value professions such as the research departments of major companies or consultancy activities.

Cost

Students must pay:

• University registration fee of €390.
• and registration for the CVEC (Contribution de Vie Étudiante et de Campus) of €103.

Our PhD en Sciences de Gestion students are graduates of University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. This is a national diploma accredited and recognized by the State.

PhD students are supervised by a faculty of high-level academics and benefit from numerous conferences led by international teacher-researchers as well as professionals who are recognized experts in their field.

• A mix of profiles

Courses are common to all doctoral students in the Doctoral School who are enrolled at the Sorbonne Business School, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and ESCP Europe. Doctoral students in initial and continuing training are brought together in a single program.

Pedagogy

The Doctoral School offers doctoral students activities and training courses included in its scientific program. This program includes methodological or thematic training, useful for developing their project, as well as conferences, seminars and study days enabling them to broaden their scientific culture and compare their work with that of other researchers.
