The choice of convictions
Positively impacting the world through education and research: that's our mission. Since its creation, the Sorbonne Business School has committed itself with heart, determination and conviction to society, its students and internationally.
Sorbonne Business School's commitment to its students
Since its creation, the Sorbonne Business School has held strong pedagogical convictions.
The first of these feeds the day-to-day life of every student, whether in initial or continuing education, face-to-face or distance learning: to offer, in an environment conducive to success, a solid foundation of knowledge to each with, at the end of the day, the assurance of having acquired all the fundamentals needed to face the job market. While integrating "soft skills", we have also chosen to promote the consolidation of fundamentals in all areas of management.
The Sorbonne Business School also stands out for the transversality of its teaching across all management disciplines in order to train managers capable of understanding the global functioning of the company and making the link between all types of decisions, whatever each individual's specialties.
Sorbonne Business School's commitment to society
As a public university establishment, the Sorbonne Business School is committed, through training and research, to democratizing success, promoting equal opportunities, and acting in favor of a humanistic, visionary, fair and responsible society.
Our commitment to society is fueled by a desire for continuous progress, and our actions are concrete. They are illustrated, for example, by our research activity, which contributes to the evolution of society and practices to anticipate the world and management of tomorrow, particularly in terms of public-private partnerships, alternative financing for the agricultural sector, governance of financial cooperatives, corporate change, territorial transformation or branding. Applied research thus gives us the means to offer innovative training programs and train professionals capable of meeting the challenges of the future.
We also give special thought to today's major societal challenges, as well as to those that lie ahead and those we can't yet imagine: management and smart cities, green finance, climate finance, employability, social dialogue, art and restructuring, liberated businesses, the social and solidarity economy, and more. Because we want to create a positive impact on society, Sorbonne Business School is also committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Sorbonne Business School's international commitment
In keeping with the Sorbonne's motto, "Hic et ubique terrarum, Here and everywhere on Earth", the Sorbonne Business School is actively involved around the world in sharing best practices, encouraging management training as well as the transfer of skills and knowledge.
In particular, we support universities in emerging and fast-developing countries, such as Haiti, in the deployment of their management training and research activities. We also support French universities and IAEs in overseas territories to strengthen their training offer, as in La Réunion and French Guiana.
The Sorbonne Business School is also present worldwide with programs in general management, including our historic Management and Business Administration (MAE) diploma, or more specialized ones (Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Finance) in more than a dozen locations in North Africa, South America, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean. Nearly 700 students are based abroad, representing more than a third of all our Executive students.
Our international commitment is also reflected at the heart of our Paris-based establishment. For example, 50% of our students are foreign nationals. Finally, every year the Sorbonne Business School organizes an international professional seminar enabling its students to visit companies, take part in conferences and discover other cultures (Montreal, Prague, London, Florence, Brussels...).
